Steve has been arranging since 1982 whilst signed to CRASH records with bands Lemonade and its alter ego The Tone Pictures. It was at Satril Studios that Steve worked with his first professional string and horn sections, under the leadership of Gavin Wright. He now works exclusively with players from Manchester based orchestra The BBC Philharmonic ,and collaborates closely with section leader, Andrew Price. As a brass arranger he works mostly with London based session player Malcolm Melling, but has recently been working with legends Mick Donnolly and Johnny Thirkell. Steve's writing is fresh and contemporary but he also calls on old school techniques and styles to produce arrangements that are stylish in character.
